The third outfit is a night on the town look. The little Trina Turk silk camisole in that amazing pattern is the focal point of the look. The pattern is so fun and vibrant. I love the Kate spade necklace. The orange gems really bring out the shades of orange in the top.  A great pair of dark jeans is a closet essential, they can be dressed up or dressed down. You can really wear them for almost any occasion.

A leather jacket is another closet essential. It can be thrown over almost everything. It just adds a tough vibe to any look and gives it another dimension. I really like the contrast between the patterned silk short and the black leather jacket, the shirt really stands out. These shoes are amazing. They are simple in the front so they don’t detract form the shirt, but when you turn to the side there is that great pop of snakeskin which is quite unexpected. Outfit 3All of these items can be found at Nordstrom.

One of the things emphasized in my fitting room experience was the importance of mixing pieces together to create new looks. By doing this outfit possibilities are virtually endless! From the first outfit I kept the APEX leather skirt because it is such an awesome interesting piece that can be paired with so much. I also kept the Sam Edelmans as they are fabulous and the blue compliments the coconut color of the skirt nicely.

This out fit is much more casual that the first.  The white silk shirt is a nice contrast against the skirt in color and texture. Throwing the light chambray shirt over it adds another layer and makes it more casual. I absolutely love the earrings. Lucite is such a big trend this spring and I feel these Alexis  Bittar earring capture it perfectly. They are so unique and add just enough to the look.

I absolutely fell in love with this Dream Daily Jacket. It is beautiful. The pattern is so intense and and exotic. There are so many different ways it could be worn! The leather skirt with the laser- cut detail is just one of many options that could go under it. Lets talk about these shoes for a minute. They are one of the most beautiful pairs I have ever seen. These Sam Edelmans are stunning and absolutely perfect for summer. The blue stones and their strappy design make them such a statement.

The whole look its self if magical. It could be worn for a variety of occasions, from work, to out to dinner, to a rooftop party. It is a completely chic and eye catching look. It is just the right mix of loud print, interesting detail, and texture mixing.

I had the experience to go in and observe a fitting room professionally set up by a stylist at Nordstrom. It was  really amazing  going in and being surrounded by all of the clothes. Fitting room set up is important when consulting a client.  It is their first immersion in to working with a stylist and can be overwhelming sometimes. It is crucial that a room not be set up too confusingly or cluttered. It has to be  organized and have a flow through it. The room must also be set up in an appealing way so that the customer can navigate it easily and be able to pick out the pieces that they like the best.

As with my experience the clothes were grouped together in clusters of mixable pieces.  Having pieces that can easily be switched in and out to create new looks is something that is important to have. Having pieces that are interchangeable is a good thing to have because it allows for outfits to be switched up and new looks to be created without buying anything new. With a few pieces that can be intermixed there are multiple possibilities for looks.

Fitting Room

With the experience of getting to observe a fitting room I also had the chance to style some of my own outfits!

Formal Drama

This Alexander McQueen dress is gorgeous. When I came across it I fell in love. It is so dramatic yet simple. The dress is the star of the outfit and really doesn’t need much for accessories. A necklace would be too much and would take away from the dress, plus I always think a bare throat looks so elegant and classy with a sweetheart neck line.

With a stunning neckline like this one I always like to go for an amazing pair of earring, because they really get shown off. These earrings are relatively simple yet are quite interesting. They add just enough to the dress.

Since these Valentino shoes have come out I have fallen in love with them. They have such a classy and elegant shape, yet the studs give them and edgy attitude that I think just brings the outfit to another level. For the clutch I chose to go with a basic unembellished shape in red so that it did not distract from the dress. It really brings out the flowers in the dress and makes to look come together.

I could see any celebrity walking down the red carpet in this look. It is so simple and elegant yet has an edge of mysterious attitude.

Tropical Getaway

When I saw this dress I instantly thought tropical vacation. I can easily see a woman wearing this out for a romantic dinner at a beach side restaurant at sunset.

The pattern is really loud and bold, yet the darker shades of fuchsia and green tone it down and do not make it overpowering, as big patterned maxi dresses tend to be.

Since the dress is such a statement keeping accessories simple is huge to making the whole look come together. I chose a simple black t-strap wedge for the shoe and the little gold accent on the toe will look amazing peeking out from beneath the hem of the dress. I kept the bag simple, just a basic black clutch with minimal embellishment because the bag is not the star, the dress is.

For jewelry the gold tones really stand out and give it a warm feeling. The simple long earnings mimics the length of the dress and work to elongate the body. . The bracelet is a simple gold stack just to add some shine and complete the look.
